Hello! Neill Cameron here with another Neill Cameron Newsletter, full of Neill Cameron News. I’ve got a bunch of stuff to share, so I’ll just dive into the main course of EXCITING THINGS ANNOUNCEMENTS, and then if you make it through all that maybe we’ll have a comic at the end as your pudding. Okay, here we go…
EXCITING THING 1:
As you are NO DOUBT ALREADY AWARE, next month sees the release of FINAL FORM, the eighth and final volume in the MEGA ROBO BROS saga. I promised there’d be news about some festivities to celebrate this, and here we go: I will be at the brilliant Mr B’s Emporium in Bath, Sunday 23rd February, for a MEGA ROBO BROS FINALE PARTY! There’ll be a signing, window painting, activities and all kinds of fun stuff happening, it should be extremely fun! It’s a free event, you just need to book a spot, which you can do HERE.
Oh and hey, why not pre-order a signed and personalised copy while you’re at it?
I mean frankly it would seem crazy not to.
EXCITING THING 2:
This March sees the first ever Yo Comics! Fair in South London, an event all about getting encouraging kids to read but also write and draw and make and sell their own comics. I’ll be there with a table with some of MY comics, but also, excitingly, I will be doing a special joint workshop with a certain collaborator of mine. And we might even (if we get our act together in time) have some copies of a very special super-limited-edition comic we are making for the event? Possibly featuring a HISTORIC CROSSOVER between certain familiar characters? Again, it should be an absolute blast. I think this is free too, you just need to book a space for the workshops. Lots of other amazing creators are going to be there too, just follow yocomicsfair on Instagram / Bluesky for more details as they are announced!
EXCITING THING 3:
I will be in WHITSTABLE for the WHITSTABLE CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL OF BOOKS, Saturday 8 March! Details and tickets here!
EXCITING THING 4:
I will be back at the Oxford Literary Festival this year (handy), but wait! “Will it just be you, Neill, doing your usual workshop schtick?”, I hear you ask. No! I will be joined by a BUNCH of talented and brilliant Phoenix contributors for THE PHOENIX GREAT COMIC DRAW-OFF! “What does that involve, exactly?” I hear you ask and, wow, aren’t you just full of questions. Details will be forthcoming! All I feel safe to reveal so far is that it will be VERY FUN and you should probably BUY TICKETS.
…I think that is everything to announce for right now. Lots more events coming up later in the year to be announced but, good lord, that’s enough to be getting on with, isn’t it? And don’t forget, I’ll be at the Waterstones Festival of Children’s Books in Lincoln, with Jamie Smart, next month, also. Find links to all these events and where to buy tickets on my linktree at linktree.com/neillcameron.
Okay, well done for making it through all the plugs. Here as your reward is a COMIC - one of this week’s ALL NEW 6-STRIPS-A-WEEK DONUT SQUAD, which I hope you are enjoying!
(This strip is dedicated to all our regulars at comics club who keep demanding answers to these questions, SORRY KIDS).
Oh and, go on then, have a sneaky little peek at some initial doodles for the previously-alluded-to Mysterious Project For Yo Comics! Fair…
…okay thanks bye xx
Sorry to miss you at lincoln, your event looked MEGA!!!
Reading comics with Beefy Chunks, I thought of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_%27n%27_Bacon. Please tell me it's an influence, and not just a coincidental similarity.
