SECOND NEWSLETTER IN A WEEK? We live in unprecedented times.
As I continue to (attempt to) recover from Phoenix Fest 2024, I just wanted to give a heads up with a couple of bits of news for any Mega Robo Bros fans out there.
Firstly: read this week’s Phoenix! (Issue number… okay, I forget the issue number. It’s the one with the ABSOLUTELY BANGING Rob Deas RED HUNTSMAN cover). I mean maybe ‘read the Phoenix’ goes without saying at this point. But this week’s episode is a big one, and kind of what ten years of storytelling has all been building towards for Alex particularly, and something I am very proud of and incredibly excited / slightly terrified to put out into the world. Enjoy!
We are heading into the final run of episodes and it’s all getting a bit climactic. As such, because I really didn’t want to spoil anything, I had a strict policy at Phoenix Fest of Basically Not Talking About Mega Robo Bros At All. I apologise to any young readers who found this frustrating, but I have to admit: I found the loud chorus of boos when I announced it strangely gratifying.
ANYWAY the good news is, we are going to make up for it, with a special upcoming event where I do nothing BUT talk about Mega Robo Bros! (Well, and, you know. Draw stuff).
Please put the date in your diaries and join me for a special MEGA ROBO MASTERCLASS, a live online digital event with the Phoenix on **FRIDAY** 9th August 2024!
Tickets here! And here’s the details:
Learn how to bring your drawings to life like a pro in this 60-minute interactive digital tutorial with Neill Cameron, the superstar creator behind 'Mega Robo Bros.'
This workshop is suitable for artists aged 7 and upwards, and will be hosted by Editor of The Phoenix (human office), Joe Brady. Don't worry if you can't join live, all ticket holders will be sent a recording of the workshop to watch after!
Every ticket also includes a digital acivity pack full of creative drawing tips that will get you drawing long after the workshop is over. This will be emailed to you after the workshop.
As this is a digital event, you need to purchase just 1 ticket per viewing device.
We’ll be doing lots of drawing but also I think it will be just a really fun chance for me and Joe to chat and answer any and all questions about all things Mega Robo Bros. Join us, won’t you?
Okay thanks bye x
EDIT: I would just like to thank my beloved colleague Dave Shelton for pointing out that 9th August is not in fact a Saturday, as I had originally stated. It’s a Friday! Look I am quite tired. THANKS DAVE ❤️
Hi Neill Cameron! I no longer subscribe to The Phoenix (sorry) and am keeping up with Mega Robo Bros purely in book form. I was wondering if, in the masterclass, you'll be discussing matters that have been published in The Phoenix but are yet to grace our bookshelves.
