Meet the Bagel Battalion!
You thought comics about Donuts were silly? HOLD ON TO YOUR DONUT HOLES.
It seems like just the other week that I was introducing you to my new comic, DONUT SQUAD. But get ready to toss those memories aside like yesterday’s donuts, because now I’d like to introduce you to my NEW new comic… BAGEL BATTALION! Including a wide range of exciting and memorable characters, like THESE:
Is this whole pile of actual nonsense the silliest thing I have ever been involved with? Yes, absolutely! Has it been one of the most fun experiences of my professional career to date? ALSO YES. Read Donut Squad AND Bagel Battalion every week in The Phoenix! And also maybe some OTHER exciting new things, VERY SOON? MYSTERY!
Now I hesitate to give away any spoilers about where all this is going, but I will just mention that next month I will be doing another live online digital event with The Phoenix, called DONUTS VS BAGELS: LIVE!
Tickets are available RIGHT NOW, and I think I can safely say it will be a VERY FUN TIME, but I will hold off for saying anything else about it until a bit nearer the time. Again: MYSTERY!
Some other upcoming events in which you may be interested! (May or may not contain bagels):
SATURDAY 30th SEPTEMBER: I will be participating in an ULTIMATE COMICS BATTLE with the brilliant Jamie Smart, at Conway Hall in London! It’s all being organised by Waterstones, and you can find details and tickets HERE.
SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER: Bath Children’s Literature Festival - I’ll be doing two HOW TO MAKE (AWESOME) COMICS workshops! They’re both sold out already, sorry, but I’m sure you can get in touch and get on a waiting list, often these things work out! Details HERE and HERE!
SATURDAY 4th NOVEMBER: this is a fun one, I will be doing a session with my brilliant editor Anthony Hinton all about developing and pitching graphic novels, at the SCBWI British Isles Conference 2023! Lots of other amazing stuff happening too, if you are a SCBWI member I hope to see you there. Details about the conference HERE!
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now. See you next week!
